About Me

Late one night, deep in a TikTok and YouTube rabbit hole, I decided I was finally going to nail my wash and go.

I had watched ALL the videos. Found girls with my porosity, my hair type, my texture. I was convinced. What I was NOT ready for was waking up the next morning with my hair standing completely straight up and having somewhere to be in two hours.

In that moment I thought: why isn't there someone I can just call right now? Not another video. Not another Reddit thread. A real licensed professional who can look at what I'm working with and tell me what to do next.

I already knew how valuable having a professional on call could be. I have PCOS and I've called Teladoc at midnight more times than I'd like to admit, just to get a real answer from someone who actually knew what they were talking about. That same exhale of 'okay I know what to do now' is what I wanted for hair. That became Hair On-Call.

I'm India, founder, brand strategist, and self-proclaimed corporate girly who takes her hair and nails very seriously. I've spent 10+ years helping brands connect with people through storytelling and strategy. But this one is personal.

I grew up watching my mother, a police officer, and my grandmother, a nurse, show up for people in their most vulnerable moments. Showing up is in my DNA.

Because we know what our hair means to us. The history, the identity, the pride. And we know we just cannot let anybody touch it. Not without trust. And honestly? Sometimes the person we trust least with our hair is ourselves and that's okay. That's what Hair On-Call is here for.

This isn't just for the girl who's been doing her own hair since she was a teenager and has a quick question. It's for the caregiver learning to care for her grandmother's hair.
